When I transitioned from quick fixes to full body healing, I had to let go of nearly everything I thought I understood about health, beauty and wellness.
Many women struggle to feel comfortable in their own skin because they’ve never been educated on how to work with their own biology. Not by their healthcare providers and certainly not by the beauty industry.
So today, I want to share three essential insights that I wish every woman could grasp sooner:
1. Your gut health directly impacts your skin health.
If you're experiencing hormonal breakouts, melasma, dryness, dullness, or skin that appears to age prematurely, it often stems from your gut health.
When your gut isn't functioning optimally, your body struggles to absorb nutrients, control inflammation, and balance hormones.
This imbalance quickly reflects on your skin. (No topical treatment or fancy serum that can resolve this.)
2. Your nervous system is a crucial component of hormone regulation.
If you find yourself feeling fatigued, bloated, irritable, craving sweets, or gaining weight around your abdomen, your nervous system likely needs attention. Trust me here, I’m my own case and point.
We’ve become accustomed to chronic stress. And, as a society, we tend to applaud working hard without rest. Hustle culture needs to retire. Now, don’t get me wrong, as a business owner myself, I understand that working overtime comes with the territory but at what cost?
Once I started prioritizing my health and finding balance in my daily life, I was able to accomplish more at work… in less time.
When your body is perpetually in a state of fight-or-flight, your hormones can't function effectively — regardless of how “clean” your diet is or how many supplements you consume.
3. Whole foods can heal more effectively than any product in a bottle. Now, whole foods in combination with the right skincare you’re going to see great results!
Remember- what you consume becomes the foundation of your cells, skin, hormones, and energy levels.
You can’t compensate for a lack of nourishment with skincare alone.
When you begin to nourish your body with the right foods consistently (not perfectly), you’ll notice improvements in your skin, mood, metabolism, and overall appearance within just weeks.
