“I always had a vision of growing my own ingredients,” Justine Khan, founder of Botnia Skincare says of launching her line of science-based skin remedies. “We had Stanford’s incredible library of scientific studies at our disposal and we really maximized it to ensure we were using our ingredients to their utmost potential.” What started as a passion project for the lead aesthetician and her husband in the greenhouse of their Sausalito, California home, has turned into an in-demand natural skin-care brand, turning down large spas across the country due to their growing waitlist.
So, why are we gushing about Botnia Skincare? Naturally, at Copal, we are keen on searching for products with the same philosophy as us: clean, natural ingredients that are good for our body, and our skin. As Khan puts it, “[Botnia] is not a squeeze-and-apply product line. It’s really targeted botanicals and the concept really has to resonate with the aesthetician.” And, while the brands’ longstanding Spa waitlist is growing, we’re excited to share that you can purchase Botnia here on Copal Beauty!
Our theme for April is Beauty Foods, and with ingredients including lavender, jojoba, hyaluronic acid (found in soybeans and other soy plants), squalane (extracted from olive plants), varieties of kale, oatmeal and more, Botnia Skincare pretty much sums up what we’re getting at.
If it’s good enough to eat, it’s even better for our skin.
Here’s a breakdown of what Copal has in stock — and why it’s good for our body, and our favorite organ — our skin.
